Disney on a Package

My experience at Walk Disney World, Florida was so memorable not only because of the engagement but also the things that came along with the experience. We went on a Disney Platinum Plan that allowed us to dine in Disney’s premier restaurants. Our meal plan included 3 meals and 2 snacks a day. To make full use of our meal plan, we made reservations for all restaurants which included romantic fine-dining at Victoria & Albert’s. I recall having to redeem 5 packs of Disney chips on one of the last few days of our stay, merely because we weren’t very “snacky” throughout the trip and didn’t want to waste our snack redemptions. It was only when we finally decided to take a tour around the Animal Kingdom Lodge’s gift store that we realized that we could have redeemed more interesting snacks like Disney chocolate and candy! The store was filled with cool merchandise that we could have redeemed instead of setting for chips. Oh well. Lesson learnt: always explore your hotel’s gift store on the day of arrival!

Disney's Walk of Magical Memories - personalized commemorative paving stones that offer guests the opportunity to be part of the Disneyland Resort history.

Bags of chips and coral blue slushies!

The rest of the snacks we redeemed before the end of our trip.

Taken just before our dinner at Victoria & Albert's. It was a rather interesting experience being attended by two servers who happened to be a husband and wife team. How cute.

Besides having to take home our personalized Menus, we got to bring back a complimentary rose and cake too.

The Disney Platinum Plan also entitled us to recreational activities such as parasailing, golf, archery and many more! We enjoyed a lovely evening on the Dazzling Fireworks Cruise too. We were pleasantly surprised when our boat captain stepped up to invite us on a cozy boat that had blankets that we used throughout the breezy ride. The display of fireworks accompanied by an endless stream of magical music, a personable captain and great company, was unforgettable.

Us, in our parasail!

Other things that we enjoyed from the package:

  • Disney’s PhotoPass Professional Portraits Service – We had a professional photoshoot at our preferred locations around the theme park and hotels (photographer Bob was so accommodating!). We also had an unlimited access to PhotoPass privileges that included free photography at all the photo stations in the park.
This shot was taken by Bob, our photographer.

Personalized photo taken by a PhotoPass photographer.
  • Character Meet-And-Greet Sessions – This is free for all guests, especially for Disney fanatics and little tots.
  • Backstage Magic Tour – Unveils what goes on behind the scenes at Disney…We got to explore the underground offices too! It was a totally different world altogether.
  • Fantasmic! – Dazzling nighttime spectacular display of searing pyrotechnics, walls of water, daring stunts, brilliant lasers and a score of timeless Disney music.
  • Segway Tours – Participants get an opportunity to ride a Segway around the park!
  • Cirque Du Soleil Performance – La Nouba.

  • Spa Treatments – Located at Disney’s Grand Floridian Spa & Health Club.
Our lounge area where we had fruits and drinks while waiting for our rooms to be ready.

While on our way to the spa, we caught a glimpse of a couple on their wedding day. Take a look at the following picture!)
