Just so if you’re wondering, this has nothing to do with the Harlem
Shake! The Shamrock Shake is green, sweet, mint-flavored…and well, as its name connotes
– is.a.MILKSHAKE!
McDonald’s first introduced the Shamrock Shake in 1970 in
celebration of St. Patrick’s Day. Get yours today at your favorite McDonald’s
outlets in America, Canada and Ireland! Don’t wait too long to get yours though…these
are seasonal and will only be sold in March.
McDonald's' first original packaging for the Shamrock Shake, featuring Uncle O'Grimacey! Wait a sec, I thought I've known him to be the color of eggplant? Hmm.
The modern version of the Shamrock Shake.
Don’t have a McDonald’s near your
area? Too lazy to do a drive-through or even step out of the house? Fret not!
You can make your own Shamrock Shake in the comfort of your home.
Try this
recipe!
Shamrock Shake
2 tbsp mint syrup
1-2 tsp mint extract
6-8 drops of green
food coloring
2 cups ice-cream
1 cup milk
Blend all
ingredients together until smooth.
You may add whipped
cream and a maraschino cherry if you’re not health-conscious, or if you are but
want to pretty-up your shake at all cost.

Try
it out and tell me if it works! The ingredient proportions are what suits me
best but feel free to play around with them. ;)
