Take Me To Venezia

Venice was one of the places we visited on our honeymoon. Friends and family have convinced us that this city of love was a fantastic choice for a honeymoon destination, and we were certain that we had to visit this city before it sinks. At some point, the thought of the little city’s beauty being overrated did cross our minds but after much research, we decided to go with our instincts, so off we went to the city of love...

Our journey to Venice started off with an arrival at Malpensa Airport via Singapore Airlines. We then boarded the Malpensa Shuttle that took us to Milano Centrale, which was the train station  we were anticipating to reach because of the great architecture, shopping and the fact that we would just be a train ride away from Venice!

Yup, that's where I headed to about 10 minutes upon arrival at Milano Centrale - the WC! We were lucky to have some spare change with us for the admission (to the WC, of course)...very costly entrance fee, I must say - 1.00 per entry! Nothing very fancy inside there, honestly.

The tourist info box! So glossy you almost can't see it.

Beautiful architecture of the train station. Does it remind you of a place in Singapore?

There's always something for everyone. Shopping for the ladies (I must stress that this is just one of many other stores)...

An Imaginarium for kids...

Food and healthcare for all!

Captured this shot of the beautiful glass panes and busyness at the train platforms. I can almost feel the atmosphere from behind my computer screen.

On board the Trenitalia. The first class cabin!

At our first class seats. The tables were foldable so they make for more room if you don't need them. We were lucky to have had all four seats to ourselves! I was very much a lounging lizard there.

They had these sliding doors that separated the cabins.

A snack counter was readily available.

I enjoyed the simplicity of soaking in the sights outside my window...tuning in to my iPod playlist...chatting with J and of course, enjoying the fact that we were on our first holiday as husband and wife.
