Eco-Friendly Living in Milan

Starhotels E.c.h.o. Milano was where we spent our one and only night in Milan. The hotel boasts a 4 star rating and is the winner of the European Hotel Design Awards. This eco-friendly hotel serves its purpose in conserving the earth’s resources and surprisingly looks good at the same time. It exudes a rather clean, modernist feel that surrounds you with nature elements. Its location is excellent as it sits just across Milano Centrale. It took us about 5 minutes to get from our hotel to Milano Centrale by foot!

We were greeted with smiles and nature at our hotel lobby.

Newspaper reading and waiting area at the hotel lobby. Note that those graceful bird silhouettes are made of metal!

Full length mirror and light-rimmed angular basin mirrors in the ladies!

A make-belief garden setting at the hotel lounge.

Our hotel by night. Beautiful outdoor sculpture.

Roof top gym!

View from the gym...can you spot Milano Centrale?

 Breakfast breads and cereal!

An assortment of fruit and other healthy options lined up for us!

I absolutely adore these lampshades. Felt the urge to reach out and feel its surface!

 A gazillion jam jars...

Would you prefer sparkling or still?

The breakfast area. Kinda reminds me of Ikea.

Introducing...our room!

A closer look at it...notice the houndstooth design on the cushion?

The houndstooth design is spotted on our duvet too!

Does this mirror seem familiar? Love the subtle matchy-ness here.

Rain shower or "usual" removable shower head options.

Toilet bowls...haha no idea why I'm posting this but there's a sort of calmness in this image.

This was sooooo intriguing! I literally spent some time observing our pillowcase design as I lay flat on my tummy. Tessellations of hearts, diamonds and spades!

Houndstooth, hearts, diamonds and spades! The designers seem to have a liking for tessellations eh.

More houndstooth designs were spotted along the corridor.

Overall, our stay was pretty satisfying, except for the fact that we weren't informed about the free flow of water available near the gym - we were too thirsty to think twice about drinking the bottles from the fridge in our room...and of course we were charged for that.
