Yesterday, a multitude of Bostonians, Boston residents (not
natively from Bean Town) and tourists headed to the Esplanade in celebration of
the 4th of July with a live concert at the DCR Hatch Shell and a
fantastic fireworks display at the end.
J and I wanted to enjoy more time on our escape from the
sweltering heat. Thus, we stayed home and only headed out at 8.30pm to catch
the fireworks display along Memorial Drive. Here are some shots taken whilst we
were enjoying our stroll there and of course, the fireworks display. Oh, but
first, the pre-stroll shots!
Red, White & Blue!
By the Charles River.
Sunsets.
The Hyatt being all patriotic.
Canoeists on the Charles. Why didn't I think of such a brilliant idea to get an unobstructed view of the fireworks?!
See the building in the far end, toward the middle of this picture? That's the boat house where MIT students were enjoying the view from!
Picnic-ers!
Spotted a lady dressed in a red, white and blue Kimono! How'd she survive the heat? I'll give her credit for dressing up though!
Fireworks spouting from the bridge!
Here's a clearer view of that.
Do I spot a hidden Mickey?
Stars...
Fireworks raining down.
An MIT fraternity. Students were on the balcony (if you could squint and see those tiny people up there), partying the night away.
Kappa Sigma.
Happy 4th of July, America!
How did you spend your 4th of July?
